Chesterton Primary School in Cambridge continues to offer a good standard of education, says Ofsted following an inspection in March.
The inspectors were impressed with the standard of education, saying the school has created a “well-organised and ambitious curriculum” and has “high expectations” of pupils.
Ofsted praises the children at Chesterton, saying they respect their teachers, are calm in lessons and know that staff care about them. They achieve well and are well prepared for secondary school.
The school is commended for making sure that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) get the support they need to access the same ambitious curriculum as their peers.
The school has a “well-thought-out personal development programme”, the inspectors say, with children taking on roles of responsibility, such as being reading ambassadors and play leaders.
Pupils feel safe at Chesterton and everyone is welcomed and valued for who they are, the report adds.
The Ofsted resort also praises ºìÁì½í³Ô¹Ï saying it “understands the school well and provides effective support to drive improvements”.
Victoria Storey, Head of Chesterton Primary School, said: “We are very pleased with this report which recognises our work to make sure that all our children become happy, confident and well-rounded learners in line with our core values ‘Ready; Respectful; Resilient and Safe’.
“We will use this report to build on all that we have achieved to ensure each child receives meaningful learning experiences and is successful academically, socially, emotionally and physically, ready for their next stage.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff, pupils, parents and carers for their continued commitment to and support for Chesterton Primary.”
Lynsey Holzer, Chief Executive Officer at ºìÁì½í³Ô¹Ï, said: “I am delighted that Chesterton Primary continues to be a good school, offering pupils a well organised and ambitious curriculum and I offer my congratulations to Victoria and all the team.
“We look forward to continuing to support the school, which is deeply rooted in the heart of the local community, as we strive for excellence and improvement to ensure children thrive and prosper.”
